Introduction to Eggless Lemon Pound Cake

Today we are going to bake the very famous Lemon Pound Cake. It is an eggless recipe.

If we were to believe then historically pound cake is a very famous northern European recipe.

Typically pound cake is a recipe that has flour, fat, sugar, and eggs in the same ratio. The initial cakes were of 4 pounds with each ingredient, a pound. This is how it got its name as Pound Cake.

Now think of it, to make an eggless version of this cake, you will have to remove 25% of the ingredient that is an egg. Now here replacing the egg with its substitute will not give the perfect texture. You will actually have to work with the rest of the ingredients and their measurements to get the perfect texture.

Interestingly, it took me 7 attempts to get that perfect texture of the cake that I am going to share with you. This is a tried and tested recipe. So start baking and delight your friends and family with this yummy recipe.
